Grateful 365/33-34

Today  is Saturday, 1st March, 2013. Our summer is over. It has been an enjoyable summer for which I am truly grateful. We had a few hot days but were lucky, here on the south coast of NSW, not to have day after day high temperatures. This summer the flies were scarce. I have never known it to be like that, makes me wonder what is in store for the next season or two.

I would like to share this with you. I found it on FaceBook.

“Stop giving energy to the things you don’t want”

1. Don’t be mean or snarky. (Instead: Be kind.)
2. Don’t judge. (Instead: Be receptive and open.
3. Don’t compare. (Instead: Recognise and celebrate others a achievements.)
4. Don’t disrespect. (Instead: Be respectful of other people, situations, time and things.)
5. Don’t hold grudges. (Instead: Forgive people, situations and yourself.)
6. Don’t be selfish. (Instead: Be thoughtful of others, life is not a game of solitaire.)
7. Don’t be ungrateful. (Instead: Be content with what you have: it is always enough.)
8. Don’t deny responsibility for the quality of your life. (Instead: Be responsible for your thoughts, emotions, body and actions.)
9. Don't lose your sense of humour. (Instead: Be funny, laugh a lot—even at yourself.)
10. Don’t assume the worst. (Be positive, hopeful and assume the best.)
11. Don’t be stingy. (Be generous with everything especially your time, love and money.)
12. Don’t lose interest. (Be curious, creative and actively filled with wonder.)
13. Don’t stop listening. (Be an active listener and hear what is not being said—and not said.)
14. Don’t get stuck. (Be open to change and new perspectives.)
15. Don’t act conceited and think you know everything. (Be a life long learner. Never stop growing and humbly expanding your knowledge.)

365/32 Grateful.

Well, I have changed from Wordpress to BlogSpot because it is easier for me.

If you wish to see my past 365 Grateful posts you can see them at hopemarg.wordpress.com

So here we are now at BlogSpot for my 32nd post on 27 February, 2014 with a new beginning.

I have been in a dark place for some months but am now out in the bright sunshine and thinking happy thoughts. In the past I have been hurt and have returned, only to be hurt again. For years, I put myself second to keep many people happy. Whilst walking out of that dark tunnel I realised that this is my life, to live the way I want, not the way others want me to live it.

I have read hundreds of inspiring quotations which have help me find the end of the tunnel. It still hurts me at times to think of the decisions I have made but if I don't keep my promise to myself then I will only go back to that dark place..........so my life moves on to happier days and if those around me are not happy with that decision.......well, that is their problem and not mine!

A few quotations I have enjoyed.

Not everyone will understand your journey. That's fine.  It's not their journey to make sense of. It's yours

It only takes a few seconds to hurt people you love, and it can take years to heal.

You choose your behaviour, your choose your consequences.

Spiritually, it's important to forgive those who hurt you, but you don't need to hang out with them.
